Uhg. Catori forgot how much she hated the saddle till she felt the straps adjust and tighten as necessary around her body. She felt confined, even when she really wasn't. It wasn't even really a saddle this time, more like saddle bags with a few supplies in them but she still couldn't keep her unamused expression as anyhting else. Of course, her tail was wagging though despite this because even if she didn't like the feel of the way they rubbed against her fur as she moved and itched if she got sweaty she did like going on trips. Especially trips that rpoomised fun adn advanture, for which this one had great promise. For one thing, Hazel wasn't coming with them. It was strange, because she rarely did anything like exploring very far without her handler. However, a new handler with funny ears had come by the tribe and had started helping out both Catori's handler and her handlers sister as well. First around the tribe with those flufy cloud beasts and now, apparently, with taking her out. She knew they where going far only by judging what he had strapped onto her so far. That, plus his large backpack, spoke to a longer journey which was all ok with Catori... Except she did hate having to bring all this stuff with her.
However, she did brighten just a little when she thought she saw someone going into the storage room, because that was where Tang-ki, her handler for the day, had gotten his bags from so maybe this would mean someone else was coming with them! She'd much rather actually go wth another tokota! She loved handlers in all the various species fo course, but there was something extra special about having someone around you could actually communicate with. Another tokota to share her excitement and her sorrows over the trip. This got her thinking about all the toktoa's it could be! She had a lot of friends by now among the tribes, Tsuki being her best friend tied with Puuka as well, although Puuka was a little bit different. She really liked Puuka, but she had to admit her admiration went a slightly varied path then that of her feelings for Tsuki. She thought Puuka was amazing, and looked good next to her and, well, while she thought all the same things of ehr best friend Tsuki for some reason it was different with the tawny male. He probably knew it too, she didn't consider herself one of the more subtle tokota's... She left that to Tsuki. Tsuki was like that chilling but beautiful mystery that as soon as you figure it out it's over... Catori was pretty sure she was about as mysterious as a rock. Sure, some where pretty, but you pretty much knew what ou where getting all the time. Aka: you were always getting a rock. Not like one of those hidden gem thigs either, just a rock. Some where pretty, like the little red tinted ones she some times found by the waters edge, or like the sleek black smooth ones she had found in the cave the other day. Beautiful, but rocks. besides, rocks usually meant an unsuccessfull exporation, so she shook her head to clear her mind of them. Hopefully, if she didn't think about looking for them she would find more than just rocks. She wanted to please both her temporary handler, her actual handler Hazel adn whomever was going on teh trip with them... if anyone actually was. So they ahd better find something extra awesome.

Puka barked in excitement as Kunik cinched the girth around his belly. The saddle was heavy, and the bags and fabric bundled awkwardly against his flanks and hips, but he was extremely excited. It wasn't everyday that Kunik brought this much equipment with her on an exploration, so it was obvious that something big was going to happen. Maybe they'd be going with someone else, even! While Puka loved exploring any day, it was much more fun when he had someone to hang out with. Kunik just couldn't understand him the way another Tokota could. He had yet to make many friends in the tribe, but his happy-go-lucky nature made him hard to refuse for most, it seemed. He had gone on some short trips with other before, and once had stolen a turkey with a group of newfound buddies, but had yet to really feel at home in the tribe. Hopefully, today would change things and help him become one with the pack as they ventured on together into the unknown.
Kunik slipped a halter over his muzzle gently, and his tongue darted out to lick her. She giggled, and paused to scratch him under the chin before continuing with her preparations. She herself tossed a bag onto her back, and slipped on a pair of hide boots and gloves. Puka could smell something tasty in whatever she was carrying, and attempted to slip his nose into her parcel. She swatted his face away gently, with a knowing smile, and before he could try again she boosted herself up onto his back. She clicked her tongue quietly and nudged him expertly in the ribs, and Puka darted off with less than a moment's hesitation. The grass felt cool and wet on his paws as he trotted off to some unknown destination with Kunik leading.
Puka quickly discovered that they seemed to be going down the path to Cross Creek and his heart sank. All this preparation just to visit the tribe? he thought sadly to himself. Well, even that is okay I guess, as long as I have someone to talk to. He scanned the area carefully, smelling for any sign of another Toko, when he caught the scent of none other than Catori. His heart becan to flutter once again, and instead of the trotting dejectedly as he had been, he all but pranced over to meet her. Kunik, however, had other ideas and steered him around to tie him and dismount before he had the chance to catch her attention. Kunik slipped quickly into the storage room, while Puka was left outside, frustrated.

Catori kept her ears perked but despite her attempts to simply sit nicely her curiosity simply got the better of her. With a glance towards Tang-Ki, who was just checking on the sheeps just outside the barn and storage area before they left, she opened her jaws to breath in and try to recognize the scents of those around her. The wind wasn't on her side, but it was not impossible either to catch the whiffs of whomever had come with them. At first, she didn't really recognize them except to say that it was definently a tribe mate, but she had guessed that regardless so this information was not new. The handler was not one she knew well, until the scent of tokota finally registered within her mind andshe instantly knew handler simply through their connection to
"Puka!" She yipped with excitement, leaping up with a sudden happy gesture that left her not totally stavle on all four legs when she landed. She stumbled, but only slightly, before trotting around the corner, coming face to face with the tawny male. She was grinning ear to ear, her heart always felt best when she was around him! He was a toktoa whom she never saw enough of, to put it midly. His carefree attitude kept her own happy and light. Even if she had a tendency to get serious during work, he managed to let her still realize she could be serious and enjoy herself at the same time... and also ruin it less for others in the mean time with her quick irritation if things weren't going perfectly. He was so much fun all the time~! Plus, he always seemed to mkae her laugh and even Tsuki couldn't do that! She laughed easily, giggled often, but none so much as when he was around. She quickly put her head to his fluffy neck fur to breathe in his scent, also mixed in with the leather of the bags and the scents of whatever lay within them. Nothing food, Puka's handler had probably taken those bags with good reason. Her tail wagged back and forth with happiness, although it was more of a whirling circular helicopter motion at the frequency at which it was going.
She could see Tang-Ki coming up, bangs on his shoulders looking ready to go.
"Are you coming to! Ah, that would be so awesome!"

Puka whimpered quietly as he gazed off in Catori's direction. His small, rounded ears were laid back delicately against the long fur of his neck so far they they almost disappeared. He wanted to break away to see her so badly. He wasn't quite sure what about her made him feel the way she did, but she was kind, beautiful, and alluringly allusive at times. He yipped quietly in her direction, hoping that she would hear him and come in his direction. After what seemed like a painful, excruciatingly long time, Catori finally peeked her head from around the corner.
"Catori!" Puka exclaimed. "I'm so glad to see you!" The golden male Toko gently ran his muzzle down her side, taking in her scent as she breathed his in. She smelled lovely as always, like grass and femininity but also like her new handler, who he didn't recognize. Her cream-colored fur was soft and plush, and he rested his head on her back for a moment to relish in her company. The pair seemed so at ease with each other, quietly investigating each other's smells and previous whereabouts.
"Yes, I think so!" he said happily, to answer her question. "Kuink is in the store-room, so I would think we're going on an exploration as well." he said with a happy smile. Almost as if at the mention of her name, Kunik exited the store-room with armfuls of supplies and a sunshine-y attitude. Seeing the pair of Tokotas socializing, she smiled happily.
"Hello Catori," she said, patting the female on the nose. "Are you excited to spend some time with Puka?" She scratched him under the chin for a moment before beginning to strap extra packs onto his back. The smell of whatever she had in her packs made his mouth water. He sniffed at them curiously, but his handler pushed his nose away. Puka wasn't upset, however. He knew he'd be able to sneak a bit of it later on. Kunik finalized her preparations, and waved to Tang-Li as he approached. It looked like they were both almost ready to go.

Ahhhh, Catori would have honestly been fine if they hadn't gone exploring at all, everything kinda faded to the background once she was around Puka. He was just so... bright and shiny. She found herself always laughing when she was around him, even when things weren't funny... In fact, there had been more than one occasion where embarrassingly so she had found herself laughing in social situations where she shouldn't have been. She just couldn't help it, he made her heart all bright and made her instantly feel all wiggly in her bones, like she could just dance and skip around and hard whatever her handlers put in front of her. She breathed in his scent for a second before his handler came, before moving her head just in time to receive some pats from the handler. She smiled, although she honestly just needed a breath of air. She needed to calm down, even just a little bit but her tail was wagging furiously and gave away how she was feeling about this trip.
"Alright, lets go." Tang-Ki said, before she felt him hop on to her back with ease. Catori looked at him, pausing for a second. He wasn't her normal handler, although she did understand that Sozin was busy and that this handler wasn't so bad either. He helped out a lot recently, but still Catori always seemed to hesitate for just a second when gave a command. She's not sure why she did, but it seemed to always happen. Then she'd flash a guilty smile, dip her head apologetically, and get moving. Which in this case, was not os hard considering moving meant going on a walk, exploring, with Puka. If the handlers weren't here it would have been so romantic, but the piebald barred was determined to make due regardless.
She headed off, pausing though to make sure that Puka and his handler would be right along side them. Now that she knew he was coming she certainly didn't want to go without him. Though she hadn't ever told him, mostly because she was pretty sure he already knew just in the way they both acted, but she knew the way she felt about him was not a way she felt for anyone else. However, it seemed more uncommon for tokota's to take on mates, she had only actually seen Kuruk and Sybil do that. She had seen far more have short lived relationships, or none at all. She didn't want her and Puka to be the last two, she wanted to know that he loved her and could for ages to come.... But she was not the type to demand it of him either. He was a free spirit, and she would never tell him what eh could or could not do.... but that didn't seem to stop her heart from hoping that one day their little romance they and going on here would be set in stone with a request to be mates.
"Where should we take them?" Catori asked, looking over to Puka. She had gone east before quite a few times, that was where her handler loved to go exploring. She had been north once or twice as well, towards the mountains there... but she hadn't really explored as much as she would have liked to. Not that she wouldn't explore it all one day, she had plenty of time.
