Tokotas Participating:
Ricus - fav.me/d8msr52

Icy cold dew clung onto the vibrant green foliage that dotted the surrounding landscape. In the distance stood dense forests and mountains with snow that coated their peaks and almost touched down to the land at their bases. Even though winter had long since receded, the cold still hung thickly in the atmosphere.
Early morning fog hung in the air around the wooden longhouse that sat in the middle of a large island. The land was created thanks to the lower water level of one river that flowed along either side. This unique landmark is what gave the tribe that lived their the name to which they swore to uphold with honor and friendship.
Deep within the warm recesses of the longhouse slept a young boy. His body snuggled tightly under the thick blankets that covered his fair skin that freckled along his face and arms. Bright warmly colored hair wrapped around his face in a messy bed tossed fashion. His breathing was even and calm while he slept soundly.
Quietly at first, a soft scratching could be heard at his door. A small whimper echoed out followed by more claws being scraped against the wooden portal. The boy's emerald forest eyes cracked open with the disturbance. He groaned as he groggily pulled himself free from his bed's warm embrace. With slow, sleepy steps the strawberry blond walked over to a chest at the bottom of his bed and pulled out simple clothing. He began to dress as the being outside his door increased the volume of it's cries with the knowledge that the person inside was awake and moving.
With the last tie done on his tunic, the lad picked up his boots and moved over to his door. He twisted the knob and creaked open the barrier that stood between him and the being outside. In a rush of movements the boy was consumed within a flurry of white fur. Joyful whimpers echoed out of the beast as he covered his owner in plenty of saliva and furry face rubs.
The boy pushed the formidable beast down and away. "Ricus! Calm down pup!" he chuckled. The animal in question backed away slightly and sat down. His tail continued to thump onto the wooden floor in glee.
The boy turned his head as he looked to see if anyone else was up and about. He could hear the faint snoring of some of the other tribe mates along with the sharp sounds of someone in the community kitchen. 'Probably Hazel...' he thought with a fond smile as he figured that she was starting to prepare breakfast for everyone. Outside he could hear a few voices of others either feeding the sheep or preparing their tokotas to go out for the day.
"Who let you in to wake me up so damn early?" he asked as he turned back to his mount and reached up to rub the tokota's furry cheek. It wasn't a serious question as he shrugged it off figuring that if anything, Ricus escaped the stables and broke into the longhouse. Again.
It wasn't anything new to any of the tribe when someone's tokota broke out to visit their handlers. The tribe strived to create strong bonds with their partners and this appeared to be one of the many side effects.
The boy sat down in front of the mount to pull on and tie his leather boots. The metal bottoms clinked onto the floor as he pulled them up and stuffed his pants inside.
