Vinheart messed with her long nails in nervousness, having never really tried turning into a Naga she was given a...pleasant surprise when she decided to turn into her Naga form as her costume for Halloween. What she was expecting was her usual long dark red tail that would start at her hips and replace her legs, with her canines getting a tad sharper, eyesight heightening and her pupils visibly narrower than usual.
What she got was completely different.
Instead of just taking over her legs, the tough dark red scales on top of her tail spread all the way up her sides and back, onto her arms and some even went up the back of her neck onto her face. With the soft tan underside scales going from the base of her neck, went down covering most of her stomach where the red scales didn't reach and along with underside of her tail. Her pupils became thin slits and practically all she saw when not focusing on seeing the person was the heat that everything gave off or didn't give off. Strange fins with sail-like structuring appeared on the sides of neck, arms and along the top ridges of her tail. Her eyes were now a deep red as well, hands rather than having her usual short finger nails had nails like that of some kind of hand model, only with sharper more curves ends.
With these visible factors came the non-visible factors. Her tongue became forked and thinner, with all her teeth now sharp though her canines were much more obvious of being longer and more like fangs now. Even worse was the fact that the costume she had been planning to wear no longer felt right, since her tougher scales had little to no traction and was more like alligator skin she was forced to re-plan her whole idea on how to look.
Eventually resorting to the internet for help she found different kinds of outfits that the mythical creature Naga would wear, and non of it was too appropriate for a thirteen year old like herself to be wearing. So instead she collected some of the crystals Elsu and herself had found during spelunking expeditions, some fancy cloth and thread she had(stolen), along with beads and a needle. Thankfully having a few hours before she had to meet up with a tribe friend she was able to fix up a last second outfits that, despite her efforts, was probably not meant for a girl her age, but it was good enough for her to feel comfortable on going out with it on.
With a gold clip-on hoop earring on each ear, some faint red eye shadow, eye liner, mascara and lipstick she decided that was enough torture to her head, leaving her hair down in its tight ringlet glory. With strings and strings of beads hanging from her hair and arms she had a top similar to that of a midriff top, only no leaves/straps, it was more decorated in crystals and jewels and made of expensive red fabric with gold thread, she decided she was ready after she grabbed two more things. After fighting with the gold bracelets for awhile she put the 3 layers of gold necklace with red games around her neck. She guessed the necklace alone was 10 pounds, but decided she'd suffer through it for the night.
Finally turning off all the lights in her cabin she traveled outside, shivering slightly at the colder air of Autumn afternoons. Making her way over to the barn she pushed the door open and slid inside, making her way over to the largest stall she pulled over the half door to see her Dire boy laying there looking at her with his scarred and clouded eyes. He was already as dressed up as he would let her, which was only black hand paints that looked like stitches holding his limbs on and she had messed up his fur to give him the look of being filthy. Petting him lightly on the head she got up onto his back, coiling her tail around the base of his neck firmly but not enough to make it hard for him to breed.
Patting his back she kissed at him, the Dire limping along to walk as best he could, since it was still pretty recently he had been given the OK to actually start walking around more. Along with his sight being practically gone all he could recognize was when something was coming up closer to him or if he recognized the color enough to react correctly. Otherwise he had been very hostile to anything that came near that he couldn't recognize, thus being confined to the valley until he could mellow out once more as he got used to walking on three legs. Though riding was slow Vinheart knew Storbjorn wouldn't have liked being left out of such an event, so while her other Tokos went off to do their own things she was bringing Storbjorn on a scary trail with her friend accompanying her.
--
Vinheart looked at the beginning of the trail with surprise, though it the surprise was gone after a few moments after she began messing with her nails as she awaited her tribe mate to arrive. They weren't late at all of course, but she had arrived a bit earlier than she thought she would and was left to wallow with impatience as other dressed up handlers and Tokotas traveled on by into the trail quickly, some going slower to compliment her 'costume' and some made remarks about Stor's scars such as 'Oh no! The poor thing, look at his leg!' and 'Oh dear, what happened?' and she had to reply with the same words and smile each time.
Now her patience was really running dry, Storbjorn sensing it that when another Tokota with their handler approached he let out a low growl and show off his teeth to make them keep walking and not bother asking, only receiving a distant compliment which she thanked them for and continued to go on their way.
