"Maple seems to think that Davin's favorite fishing rod is the best fetch stick ever and doesn't seem to want to let it go without a fight. Better tucker out that Tokota before they chew it in half!"

Vinheart sighed quietly, leaning against her Dire Storbjorn. Three other Tokotas of hers sticking close to the Dire and their handler. Red Death, Heart Gold and Soul Silver stuck close by, not coming too close to the large three-legged Dire male as to not provoke him. Just like it was when Dyretbjorn was more active, or so they had been told to do either when around the Dire or the white Beast Bear himself. Stor had been around when Vinh's white bear had went haywise, attacking farm animals and people should they have gotten in his way, while the other three hadn't been around long enough yet to know much else other than a girl named Hazel had been Dyret's first victim as she tried to protect a sheep.
The three regular sized males only knew from word of the rest of the pack and tribe Tokotas that the handler Hazel was a blonde girl with blue eyes, her hair likely to be put up in a bun with some hair on either side of her face. Red could recognize her immediately, being the most alert as Gold and Silver noticed where he was looking and also spotted the blonde handler who everyone had turned their attention to as she handed out cards.
"What's going on again?" Red asked, kneading the ground with his paws in nervousness as Hazel drew closer to giving their handler a card.
"Seems the Tokotas who belong to the tribe as a whole decided to take all the clues Hazel had set up for a scavenger hunt and hide them in their own places," Storbjorn grunted.
Gold growled lightly, "Sounds like they just want to cause more trouble is what it is."
"They think it's more of a problem with them not getting as much action as us in all the things that have been going on recently," Silver stated, then added nervously, "uh, us as in the packs that is."
"Nice save pup," Storbjorn grunted again.
Red, Gold and Silver watched as Hazel finally approached Vinheart. Storbjorn, keeping his ears perked as his milky blue-yellow eyes followed the blonde handler faintly as she walked up and handed Vinheart a card. Vinheart gave a small smile, but didn't dare say a word. Having rarely spoken other than to her Tokotas or Rycker, she seemed to have broken away from the tribe more ever since Dyretbjorn had gone on his rampage and most of the tribe followed Davin's word to try and kill the giant white bear. Red waited until the Hazel girl was gone before he walked up and looked at his handler, her dark brown eyes darker than usual as she crossed her arms.
Elsu's whole pack was worried for their handler, as she had also been wearing a similar outfit all the time ever since preparing to protect Dyret with her life. Which, in the end she didn't have to give up her life to protect him, but all the Tokotas of their pack knew she wasn't the same. It didn't seem like the other other handlers could tell, as none had made a point to try and make sure she was fine when she was alone with the pack in the valley. Vinheart paid no mind to Red's worried, silver gaze as she looked at her card and the symbol it held on it.
Releasing yet another sigh she stood up from leaning on Stor and showed her 4 Tokotas her symbol. Red followed at her heels as everyone started looking for their partners, Silver, Gold and Stor going to look at the other handler's cards to help the search go faster. Some of them met up right away, though it seemed Vinheart was having a harder time finding her assigned partner. Not many would approach her regularly anymore, it was always cautious with a sympathetic look and smile towards the youngest member of the tribe. Since she was only 13 and all the others in the tribe were basically 15 or older, leaving her to feel like some small kid around them when they looked at her with such a look as they had been recently. Even with the newer members of the tribe it was like they knew what happened that day of the bear hunt, likely having been told by someone in the tribe or it had even spread out of the tribe most likely.
It almost made her so mad that she'd been tempted to slap one of the new members when they had greeted her, trying to hide their sympathy and almost trying to force their voice to be kept down a notch like they'd scare her off. She just hoped whoever she got stuck with didn't look at her and greet her in such a way that would make her want to go off alone like she always did.
