Tokota doing Rite: Haloa ----
Early morning, the sun barely even showing a sign of it's rising was the chilliest time to be up in the spring after a night of breezy chills. The grass lightly frosted over, the perfect condition in the piebald female's opinion as she awoke ready to begin her first Rite to please her Handler. Standing and stretching the female slipped out of the barn where most of her pack and tribe mates also stayed during the nights.
Upon exiting the roofed area a swirling breeze ruffled her patchy coat, the chill that came with it was nothing of foreign feeling to her and she welcomed it happily as the heat within the barn was quite stuffy once awake, though it gave a very safe feeling and was calming when asleep or finding a place to hide from bad weather. Her lilac eyes looked elsewhere, a smile on her muzzle as she went on her travel away from the barn to start and finish the first rite at an area where she knew others were also doing it, so judges would be there and it would be an easy time to get it done.
While some went with their handlers, Haloa was instead having one of her Handler's friend aid her in getting her Rite of Merit finished.
"Haloa wait up!" The silver tabby cat called out, making the piebald stop and look over behind her as the bushy tailed cat caught up and jumped up onto the female back.
"Hey Tira," She greeted politely, continuing her walk on towards where she would be hunting.
She didn't know yet if she would be hunting with another Tokota, or going solo with her Handler for the time being keeping an eye on her with a judge to make sure everything looked good and went fine. The silver cat practically read her mind.
"You may be doing the Rite of Merit with a Tribe member, don't exactly know yet seeing as I couldn't talk to their handler though I talked to them quickly," Tira said.
Haloa nodded in response, continuing to just trot along to get to her destination to begin her Rite of Merit.

Tokota Doing Rite: Catori---- Catori had woken later than she had planned to, jumping up with a start when all of the sudden the lighter filtering in was not a way or wamring up but al at once a reminder that she was actually suppose to be up and getting ready for her first rite of fertility today. Getting up with lightning bolt speed, she charged through the house and out the doors to make sure Hazel hadn't chosen someone else to go in her stead. This was her time, she could feel it. These rites where what made her into an adult, what allowed her permission to forge relationships in new ways and produce offspring when the time came. She wanted that. She wanted to be able to look at Puka as an equal, right now she felt like she was looking at him as a child. She refused to have him see her that way, it was just place embarassing, and while logicially she knew that he probably didn't see her that way and that he could probably care less one way or the other about the rites, it mattered to her. It mattered to her that in every way she could stand beside him, she didn't want to be less than him because it meant she may be bringing him down. Of course, thankfully handlers couldn't read minds so when she came out into the cold Alaskan fall day she could be grateful that Hazel had no idea what was on her mind at the time. Hazel was out there, however, by the bard looking like she was getting ready with a saddle and outfit. Approaching her more calmly now, Catori nudgedHazel's back warmly. Hazel turned around with a huge grin and immediately set to work saddling up Catori as needed. Catori didn't really like these saddles, they where more showy and had more places that itched or rubbed funny, but she tried her best not to move so Hazel could put it on with ease. Even if she disliked it Catori knew she wouldn't argue. This was hardly a matter worth arguing about and she wanted to show her handler, and everyone else for that matter, that she was a obediant tokota, one that could do her task and do it well despite any obstacles. Finally, when the lsat strap was all tight and ready to go she gave herself a little shake. Yup, everything was staying on so it was good to go. Leaning down to lick Hazel, as a thank you, she saw Hazel put somehting out of her bag, her handler dipping her fingers into it and then putting her fingers along catori's face. Catori's handler's fingers where cool to the touch, leaving behind a cool wet substance that upon further inspection of the jar she realized it was that colour stuff. Staying still so Hazel could apply it, but feeling acutely aware of where it went and desperately curious to it's purpous here, made staying still a rather difficult task. "Alright lets go!" Hazel finally said, and with ease jumped on to Catori's back and nudged her forward. Catori started off, running at full speed which for any tokota was always a miraculous feat. Her paws thundered against the Alaskan Wilderness they called home, her breath took in the cold, bitter air that signalled winter was coming ever closer, and it felt brilliant. Before long they could see another tokota and handler, and Catori slowed down. It was a tribe mate, she recognized both hanlder and toktota though she hadn't ever gotten the chance to really get to know either incredibly personally yet. Catori walked alongside the other tokota. "I assume where going together, many hands make light work as they say." She said. "I'm Catori."

Tokota :: Miwok Handler :: Kaya Ann Volkov
____________________________ The sun beamed through a crack in the side of the tepee onto the form of a strange looking creature. Well... only strange because of its massive size. It was a fairly dark, dog-like animal, that, if not for the early morning sunlight, could've easily been mistaken for a dark lump of furs in the corner of the little home. The creature, which appeared to be male, and covered in short, coarse fur, except for on the backside of his neck, where something like half a shaggy mane was atop his crest, rose his head, to slowly look over at the where a cot of furs and fluff in the corner sat. His handler was gone. The fire, still crackling in the middle of the tepee, crackled, and the creature stood, stretching. Without much sound, the giant horse-sized dog, known as a Tokota, slipped from within the confines of the darkness and into the light of spring. Looking to the sky, a scowl appeared on the male's face. He was early. But... it didn't hurt to be early. Letting out a puff of air into the cool morning breeze, Miwok was none to surprised to find himself looking at a reflection of his own breath, dancing in the air for yet a moment, before drifting away. The dark Tokota looked up as his handler, Kaya approached, he stuck his head into her arms as a greeting, before staying stock still as she moved around and pulled herself onto his back. The human clicked at him, and on they went, moving towards the area in which the Rite of Merit was held. Kaya had chosen to have Miwok participate in an event that would help him specialize in the Wild Trait.
For now though, Miwok focused on getting himself ready for the task as they moved across the Alaskan wilderness. The half-maned dun let his tongue roll out to the side as he moved, transitioning from a trot to a run as they moved out of the confines of the village. He seemed set on his course, responding to the different pulls and squeezes of Kaya's hands and legs as they moved towards their destination. Of course he knew where he was going, it was just better that Kaya redirect and offer assistance as they went. Miwok's attention as stolen as two other Tokotas of the Cross Creek Tribe came into view, and he barked a soft hello, before coming closer to them.
The male paused as they came upon two females, both looking to be merles of some sort. But he dipped his head in a greeting, coming to an easy stop, and waiting for the handlers to converse and figure everything out.Word Count :: 453 Words

Haloa looked voer behind her as a barred piebald female walked up and introduced herself. Finding her friendly immediately Haloa smiled towards her.
"I'm Haloa, nice to meet you Catori," She replied back politely. "I guess so, Tira said she had told others of doing the Rite this morning so they could possibly come. I guess they aren't coming, unless she told you of coming here? Since she obviously can't talk to your handler."
Haloa flicked an ear towards the fair sized silver tabby atop her back, sitting on a simple saddle that she had put on the night before to not go through trouble in the morning of getting it on with only Tira's help. Upon hearing a soft bark towards where she wasn't looking, Haloa turned her head and let out a light bark back in greeting with a smile.
"I have little of a clue on what they are talking about," Tira muttered out of the blue, looking between the two human handlers with confused, wide blue eyes. "Why didn't you get like, I don't know, Hiiro or Tuni to help you with this? They understand human."
"Oops, oh well. Hiiro would've told Tuni, then the old coot would have found a way to notify Elsu, and then they'd both find a way to tell Vinheart what was being planned because she likes knowing everything that happens with her pack," Haloa replied back, chuckling as the cat swatted her ear with a slight hiss.
Haloa shook her head before looking towards the halfmane male and smiling again.
"So what's your name?" She asked politely.

Catori stood with Hazel, waiting as the others introduced themselves and everyone got ready for this thing to begind. Hazel had a map out, although she'd leave it behind when they started the rite, but was looking towards teh mountains ranges, fingers etching unkown paths along them, as she tried to study the best possible route they could take. Catori could tell Hazel thought this was the important factor, even if Catori herself thought you could probably go anyway and still make it back in time. If choosing the one right way meant whetehr you could make it back or not in time then it was more random chance that you happened to find the right path adn stay on it, rather than being a test of their abilities to survive the wilderness within the mountains. No, it was probably pretty easy regardless, the thing was making sure you didn't get trapped and otherwise so long as you could survive each day and make good time as far as walking went Catori was pretty sure they would do just fine.
Still, she inspected the other tokota she didn't know, the half mane. She was sure she'd get to know the tokota better as they completed this rite together, but she still was a alittle unsure of having someone she didn't know accompany them. Not that it was her choice, she just was ove worrying this and was concerned that something would go wrong adn then she'd really wish she had around her all tokota's she kenw well and could trust with her life.... She wasn't sure if she could with this half mane just yet but she was sure she'd find out sooner rather than later.
